Moving beyond my previous works, this piece represents a pivotal shift in my artistic journey toward Afrofuturistic painting. This character serves as the first chapter of a broader visual story, acting as a recurring protagonist who will navigate the landscapes of my future, larger-scale works. I wanted to capture a specific type of presence: one that is both confrontational and ethereal. By blending traditional figurative techniques with a forward-looking aesthetic, she becomes a vessel for the enduring power and grace of the Black female spirit, standing as a guardian of this new creative direction.
